We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The Junior Sushi Chef will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and creation of high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring adherence to established recipes, standards, and hygiene practices. Key Responsibilities:

1. Sushi Preparation:

- Assist in the preparation of a variety of sushi dishes, including maki rolls, nigiri, and sashimi.

- Follow established recipes and techniques to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.

2. Knife Skills:

- Demonstrate proficient knife skills for precision cutting of fish, vegetables, and other sushi ingredients.

- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work station.

3. Quality Control:

- Monitor and maintain the quality of sushi products throughout the preparation process.

- Work closely with the senior sushi chefs to uphold quality standards and meet customer expectations.

4. Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to coordinate timing and workflow.

5. Menu Development:

- Contribute ideas for new sushi dishes and variations to enhance the menu.

- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into sushi preparation.

6. Hygiene and Safety:

- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.

- Keep work areas clean and sanitized to maintain a safe and healthy kitchen environment.

7. Training and Development:

- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance sushi preparation skills.

- Seek guidance from senior chefs to improve techniques and expand culinary knowledge.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a sushi kitchen or similar culinary role is an advantage, but not necessary.

- Knowledge of different types of sushi and traditional Japanese ingredients is an advantage but not necessary.

- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
